Club signs top coaching pair.
BRIGHOUSE Rangers have swooped to sign two heavy¬weights in the game to lead their coaching team.
The amateur rugby league club's chairman Dean Wilson has revealed that after weeks of talks Bradley-based Johnny Bruce, 36, the former Huddersfield Giants, Sheffield Eagles, Batley Bulldogs and Doncaster prop forward is to be their new coach. He will be assisted by another former front-rower, Brendan Hill, a fans'  favorite in his heyday at Halifax, Bradford Northern and Keighley Cougars.

Trevor Armitage - Remembered
Written by Brighouse Echo

Trevor Armitage (1944-2008)bigtrev
TREVOR died suddenly aged 64 last Tuesday at Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax.
He had suffered for several years from diabetes but this never affected his outgoing personality nor the work behind the scenes he did at Brighouse Rangers ARLFC.
He leaves Janet, his wife of 37 years who lives in Lightcliffe, daughters Vicky and Lousie, step daughter Elizabeth, father-in-law to Lee, Michael and Adrian, brother-in-law to Adrian and Helen and grandfather to James, Miles, Julian, Keisha, Keenan and Max.
In his career he worked at Revell Carters in Brighouse, as a welder in partnership with his late brother and for the 18 years until his retirement as a carding engineer at Bondina, Greetland.
On his first date with Janet he took her to Odsal to watch Bradford Northern and by the end of the match she was frozen stiff and wondering if this would be a regular pattern for dates with her tall, handsome man.
For the past 20 years he has worked to help Rangers with touchline collections, raffles, taking the kit to wash, helping Ian Flynn on the barbecues and acting as the club's official photographer and doing a good job all round.
When the family lived at Bonegate Road they did a lot of travelling, with Spain a favourite destination alongside Tunisia and cruises in the Mediterranean and to the Caribbean.
He doted on his grandchildren and loved his family around him and that included all the lads and committee at Rangers.
